Chris Hausner is a Partner of Russell, Krafft & Gruber, LLP, joining the firm in 1982 after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Wilson Bucher and the Honorable Ronald L. Buckwalter, Judges of the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County.

Chris represents a diverse group of clients including municipal authorities, employers, employees and individuals and businesses involved in civil litigation. Her no-nonsense approach to legal matters is appreciated and respected by both her clients and her peers.

In the complex arena of Employment Law, Chris’ work includes advising employers and human resource personnel on proper practices and compliance issues, preparation of employee handbooks and manuals, drafting and interpreting employment contracts and restrictive covenants and litigation of discrimination claims. Her experience in representing both employers and employees gives her a thorough and useful understanding of both perspectives, essential in securing successful outcomes for her clients.

Chris’ practice also includes representing municipal authority clients. She is knowledgeable in the wide range of issues specific to these clients, including: Right to Know and Ethics Act compliance, the Sunshine Law, intergovernmental cooperation between local municipalities and federal, state and county authorities and entities, public auditing requirements, condemnation and real estate acquisition, leasing and conveyance, public sector employment issues and personnel policies, civil rights and associated litigation before administrative agencies and in courts, employment arbitration, negotiation, drafting and enforcement of contracts, public bidding requirements, public financing and grant acquisition and administration. 

Chris’ clients benefit significantly from her experience in civil litigation and dispute resolution. She regularly appears before administrative agencies and in courts. In addition, she represents business clients and individuals resolving disputes with alternative dispute resolution methods and in state and federal court. Her years of litigation experience have enabled her to be a successful advocate for clients, often securing significant results.

Chris has participated in numerous community and professional groups. She is a member of American Business Women's Association Women @ Work Chapter, and has served on the Boards of Directors of Mental Health America of Lancaster County, the Musser Park Civic Association, Recovery Connections and the Lancaster Bar Association. Chris has volunteered her time for pro bono work for more than 20 years. In 2010, she received a Pennsylvania Bar Association Pro Bono Award recognizing her contribution of legal services to those unable to afford them. She is active in local politics, currently serving as Chairman of the Hempfield Area Republican Committee. In addition, she previously served as President of the Women's Republican Club of Lancaster County, Chair of the Lancaster City Republican Committee and as a state Republican Committeewoman. In 2007, Chris achieved Master Gardener status, meeting the qualifications through the Penn State Cooperative Extension Program, and volunteers regularly with other Master Gardeners. She lives with her husband, Mike, in East Hempfield Township and enjoys spending time on home-improvement projects.
