On Fridays, we compile and post Legal Links, a list of legal news, reported cases, community events and topics of interest to Lancaster residents and readers of the Lancaster Law Blog.
- Are You Tired of Having Too Much Space? Do You Think Outside The Box? Well then the tiny house movement might just be for you! James and Rose Stoltzfus, owners of Liberation Tiny Homes, have only completed one tiny home to date, but report that their business has taken off more than they ever thought it would.
- Well That’s Going to Make The Holidays Awkward Have you ever RSVP’d to something with every intention of going only to have a last minute change of plans? Well that is what happened to Jessica Baker and her husband. They planned to attend a relatives wedding but their babysitter cancelled at the last minute. Since the wedding was adults only, the couple could not attend. Weeks later they received a bill from the newlyweds for the meal they never ate.
- Still No Budget As the stalemate between Gov. Tom Wolf and Pennsylvania Republicans rattles on, state agencies are forced to make cutbacks. These cutbacks include a hiring freeze, travel ban, and purchasing restrictions. For more on what these cutbacks all mean, check out Pennlive.
- I Hope You’re Hungry! This weekend marks the inaugural Ephrata Food Truck Challenge. Brave the rain and enjoy an event for the whole family on Saturday October 3rd. Food trucks not your style? Did you miss out on last week’s fairs? There is still time to check out the New Holland Fair.
The organizers of the 27th Annual Bridge Bust are happy to hear that Hurricane Joaquin is forecast to head east. This fun event will be held rain or shine and is a great opportunity to get a head start on your holiday shopping for Ida, Joaquin, Kate, Larry or Mindy. Please submit topics or community events for future Legal Links to cds@rkglaw.com.
